ALL ABOUT ME!
ALL ABOUT ME!
I am Jewels...and you could say I get around a bit. You see, not only am I a girl about town, I am also a fashionista who finds herself full of spirit and wanderlust.
To travel is to live, especially when you spread a little sprinkling of pug joy (and hair).
ME
I am a very lucky Pug living in Los Angeles California. I am 8 years old and I am a Graduate from Pug Nation LA. I was rescued by this amazing team in 2015 when I was 2 years old. With their help I bagged myself a new family, and I have been enjoying life ever since. I love meeting people, eating, dressing up, eating, posing for photographs, eating, running on the beach after my ball....then having a snack!
Despite my ravenous appetite, I am quite petite at 12.5lbs and am often referred to as a Pint Sized Pug. I might be little, but I am mighty with a very large 'Go Get It' attitude. Blessed are the curious, for they shall have big adventures...and I am super inquisitive.
I want to keep enjoying, keep exploring and keep discovering all those things that are out there to lay-ones-paws on and uncover. Adventure is out there....so go grab it by its tail!!
Jewels' World is where I blog about all these adventures . By sharing my experiences, I hope I can make it a little easier for all the other pugs that love to travel, eat out, and run on the beach; truly get the best out of the places you visit.
HOOMANS
I am adored and well-tended for by a lovely British couple who love exploring...and Pugs. They moved from London to Los Angeles, in 2012, and have been exploring all the USA has to offer since the day they arrived. As there is a lot of different terrain in the USA, they have taken to enjoying Roadtrips as a way to get up, go and explore.
They try to take me with them on these fun jaunts as often as they can. I have become a pretty adept good back seat driver. We are a polite bunch and we take note of the rules and regs we see along our way. My blog, Jewels' World, explains how we make the best of the varying rules that say I can’t join them in a restaurant or on the beach...even if I am better behaved than many hoomans I see on my travels.
TRAVELS
I am an IT Pug, and I hit upon all the LA hot spots, wangling an invite or two to the best parties in TinselTown. LA has a splendid Pug community and I have a lot of awesome friends here, with many an opportunity to assemble and hang out. But when I get itchy paws and want to search out a different kind of vibe, I hop in the car, and with a little help from Google, I am on my way to discover new food joints, new hikes, new beaches, new cities, new people (sometimes Aliens) and new...well just about anything...because to travel, is to live!
I have so far travelled almost all the California and Oregon coasts, as well as quite a bit of Nevada. My blog details my trips in bite-sized chunks and how I dealt with the issues of 'pug friendly' or 'not so pug friendly' establishments on our travels. There does seem to be quite a difference in what people consider 'pug friendly'...sometimes this means we are amazingly welcome and are treated like any other guest, (often more so), other times it means we are just 'tolerated'. I normally win the majority of those hard people around, but let's be honest, no pug likes it when they spy a 'NO DOGS' sign is on the door!
PHOTOS
My Mum can’t stop taking photographs of me. You should see her camera roll...pug, pug, pug...oooh another pug! (Sound familiar?). My Pops prefers capturing the landscapes and scenery we stumble across on our trips - although I do manage to creep into as many of his shots as I can. Personally, I can't see what isn't adorable about a shot of a little pug butt admiring a wonderful sunset...can you?!
Most of the photos I appear in are taken on an Iphone XS or a Fuji XT20 Mirrorless. We organize the photos using LightRoom and publish them on SmugMug.
My Gallery has a few photos which make me smile. Take a look at my Gallery and see if some make you grin.
I will let you into a little secret!...
Some of my friends like feet, or birds, or eating horse dollop ..., but I like mats. I refuse to sit on hard cold surfaces. My little peach likes all the home comforts of soft cozy blankets, cushions and pillows. You'll see a lot of these in my photos as I rarely sit down without one (I quite like to hump them too...[it's so good when an object is dual purpose], but that is another story!). I had a series of intestine prolapses when I was 2 and under, and I am not sure if this is where my fetish started, but it's a good enough reason as any. Others may say I am just a little Diva! (Gasp!, Shock!!, Horror!!!).
